(500) Days of Summer is a 2009 romantic comedy drama film which I so happen to watch today. The narrator warns at the beginning of the movie ... this is not a love story, and not till the end of the film when I realized it was perfectly accurate.
The film is nothing like any traditional love story. It's something like a fun of memory blender, flashbacks you get like Day 89, Day 2, Day 109 - well you get the point once you've seen it. That is how most of us remember anyway.
What I really like about the film is that it is different, yet very realistic. So often our "dream" girl/guy is just not quite a fit in this world, yet she/he and the next guy/girl are just right. Doesn't seem fair, but in reality, it is not only fair, but perfectly just. And remember, there is always another season ... maybe Autumn? Heee ;)
(500) Days of Summer will provide you with an interesting evening, a few laughs, and perhaps some thoughts on past and present relationships. Just so you know, I was smiling throughout the film from start to end. A MUST watch!
Joseph Gordon Levitt, how could you watch the film and not get melted with his smile, go figure :|
